07:30-08:30

2 teachers:Welcome & settle:

Children and parents welcomed and children settled. Children encouraged to choose an activity to begin the day. Art area and main room available for supervised play. Information passed on and noted. Play areas set up.

08:30-09:30

3 teachers:

Free flow play - direct and indirect learning experiences. Children are settled as they arrive.

09:30-noon

4 teachers:Educational planned programme. Morning tea breaks for teachers. Supervisor 2 hours non-contact. 1 hour non-contact for teacher.

Staff discuss morning programme & areas of supervision. Free-flow play continues. Rolling morning tea. Activities offered in regard to group monthly goals and individual child goals. Toilet checks.

11:30

Teacher facilitation

Tidy-up time. All children are encouraged to help.

11:40

Teacher facilitation

Planned mat time (music, story-time, jingles, finger puppets, games and discussion). Wash hands before lunch.

noon-12:30

4 teachers:Lunch & Rest(Meal breaks for staff)

Check on chart for allergies before serving meals. Staff to role-model good table manners/ eating habits by sitting with the children and eating/drinking with them. Older children serve themselves - what they take they are encouraged to eat. If children do not eat (eg tired), meals are named and placed in fridge (re-offered when child wakes). Administer medicine if necessary.

12:30-13:00

4 teachers:Rest/sleeptime

Children who are sleeping in sleeproom with 2 staff members, settled with calming music. Resters rest on mattresses in main playroom with taped stories and books.

13:00-13:30

2 teachers pre-school time. 2 teachers sleeproom

Pre-school time for older children. This includes pre-reading, pre-writing and maths skills as well as science and technology and extension activities.

13:30-15:00

4 teachers:(1 in sleeproom)

One-to-one child/staff interaction as children get up. Support for afternoon activities. Spontaneous activities. Inside/outside play continued. All children up by 3:00 pm. Toilet checks.

14:45-15:15

4 teachers: Children's afternoon tea

 Group or rolling afternoon tea. Staff discuss any issues to follow-up and feedback for parents at the end of the day.

15:30-16:30

4 teachers:

Free flow outside/inside play.

16:20

Teacher facilitation

Tidy-up time. Toilet checks.

16:30-17:30

3-4 teachers:Preparation for home - Farewell.

4:30 - Music session for those that are interested. Further cleaning of play areas used. Co-operative games.5:00 pm - late snack provided. Quiet co-operative games/stories offered. Parent communications.

17:30-17:45

1 teacher:Cleaning.

Centre readied for next day. Equipment returned to rightful place.
